In 2006, more than 200,000 incidents of domestic violence were reported across the City of Chicago. That’s 561 calls for help a day.
At Rainbow House, we understand the problem of domestic violence. For more than a quarter of a century, we have been committed to being part of the solution.
We work to end the cycle of abuse and violence by reaching beyond cultural barriers to help families in crisis.
Since 1982, Rainbow House has provided critical intervention, compassionate care, legal assistance, therapeutic solutions, educational outreach and consistent, seamless support to women and children across the City of Chicago whose lives have been shattered by domestic violence.
Rainbow House is a not-for-profit agency dedicated to the goal of reducing the incidence of domestic violence and the devastating impact that often goes with it. As part of that effort, Rainbow House works with communities and families across Chicago to address the roots of violence.

Because our children matter. To help the littlest victims of domestic violence, Rainbow House has created a specialized Children’s Program.
The Children’s Program is staffed by a children’s counselor and a licensed children’s therapist, who oversees the assessment and course of therapy for each child. Our Programs Who We Are
