RAINBOW HOUSE HOSTS LA NOCHE DE ARCOIRIS - OCTOBER 25th, 2011

Friends of Rainbow House:

I am proud to be on the Board of Directors of Rainbow House, an organization that helps domestic violence survivors by providing the resources necessary to live a life free of violence. We accomplish this goal through individual and group counseling, legal advocacy, prevention and intervention education, specialized community outreach, referrals for further services, safety plan creation and emotional support. Located in Little Village, Rainbow House serves mainly underserved Latina women and children. All services at Rainbow House are free and made available in both English and Spanish.

Rainbow House is making plans for the annual “La Noche del Arcoiris” event on October 25th 2011 from 6:00-9:00pm. Please join me and our Honorable guest, City Clerk Susana Mendoza for dinner, drinks, live mariachi music, a performance by Erasing the Distance, access to the museum, which will be showcasing its Día de los Muertos exhibit, and the opportunity to learn more about the work that Rainbow House does. The success of this event is credited largely to our family, friends, colleagues, and sponsors, who lend their names and financial support to the event. The money we raise each year goes to help survivors of domestic violence achieve safety, stability, and health and this year’s goal is $15,000 dollars.

Individual tickets are on sale for $50 per person and can be purchased online at our event site at http://lanochedelarcoiris.eventbrite.com/. We also have five levels of sponsorship packages. You can select the level of participation that best meets your needs, and be secure in the knowledge that your sponsorship fee will be used to help Rainbow House continue to provide culturally-specific services to women and children fleeing domestic violence.
