Introductions to New Board Members
Rainbow House takes great pleasure in introducing our newest Board members. They are:

Michael Zmora - Michael Zmora is a securities litigation attorney at the law firm of Neal, Gerber & Eisenberg LLP. Prior to that, he clerked at the Consumer Protection Division of the Illinois Attorney General’s office and the Legal Assistance Foundation’s Westside office. He has continued to stay involved in community legal work successfully representing a juvenile client who fled gang violence in Honduras in obtaining permanent residency as part of a Special Immigrant Juvenile Status hearing and volunteering with the Domestic Violence Legal Clinic in Cook County.

Yolanda Angelica Casillas -Yolanda Angelica Pena-Casillas has worked within the Construction Industry for over 12 years. Her passion for domestic violence stemmed from her own personal experience which she endured for seven years. After defeating this personal demon and without an education, she found her inner strength and obtained an Associate degree in Architecture, a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management and a Master in Business Administration. She is presently working at d’Escoto Inc. as the Senior Project Controls Manager but most importantly raising a fifteen year old girl. She would love to give her testimony to the world as a gift of survival by assisting others.

Here's what else we've been up to:

Clothesline Project for Domestic Violence Awareness Month
On October 1, at District 10 Chicago Police Department (3315 W. Ogden Ave.), Rainbow House will kick off Domestic Violence Awareness Month with their very own Clothesline Project meant to “Air Out Chicago’s Dirty Laundry.” The Clothesline Project will serve as a visual display of tee-shirts made by survivors of domestic violence and hung side by side on a clothesline to bear witness to violence against women.
