Introductions to New Board Members
Rainbow House takes great pleasure in introducing our newest Board members. They are:

Patrick Antos
Patrick Antos is a 15-year veteran of the banking industry with a passion for serving people and communities in need. He is currently with Wintrust Financial Corporation, a bank holding company, where he is the Community Reinvestment Act Officer. As such, he helps manage the company's Corporate Citizen role, which oversees assistance programs within the communities they serve.

Rosy Mares
Rosy is an experienced bank auditor for the $10 billion Chicago-based MB Financial Bank. Active in political affairs, Rosy volunteered for the cam-paigns of Gery Chico and Tammy Duckworth. Also active in community affairs, Rosy's interests include immigration and assisting low-income families find social services. She is a life-long resident of Little Village and a founding member of the Little Village Book Club.

Kathleen Higgins
Trained as an artist and museum administrator, Kathleen is an accidental fundraiser who has raised more than $20 million for a variety of direct service agencies. She is dedicated to being a voice for those who are unable to speak for themselves, which is what, she says, led her to Rainbow House. She is currently the Director of Development for National People's Action and ESL volunteer teacher in Pilsen.

Carol Hetman
The Board's newest member, Carol is a senior Human Resources Executive with an extensive background in managing Human Resources and Corporate Communications as well as managing change initiatives in global organiza-tions. Most recently, Carol was Senior Manag-ing Director and Group Head of Human Resources for Newedge Group, a brokerage company headquartered in Paris.

Second Annual Night of Appreciation
On June 18, 2009, Rainbow House held its Second Annual Night of Appreciation. There was food and drink and an auction items aplenty. More than $3,000 was raised. To see photos of the event, click here.

Artists Against Domestic Violence
On October 15, 2009, Tini Martini played host to local artists who threw a benefit for Rainbow House. Check out photos on Facebook.

RH on the Radio
On October 24, 2009, Rainbow House took efforts to prevent domestic violence and help survivors to the radio, appearing on the Jesse Menendez show on Chicago Public Radio, vocalo.org at FM 89.5. To view photos, click here.

RH Hits the Streets
On October 30, 2009, Rainbow House joined dozens of agencies, providers, survivors, and supporters for the "Silent Too Long, Silent No More" March and Rally through the streets of Pilsen and Little Village.
