On-Going Opportunities
Please note that the
positions marked with an * require 40-Hour
Domestic Violence Training, which Rainbow
House provides twice per year in January and
August. Volunteers who commit to
volunteering at Rainbow House at least two
to four hours per week for at least six
months can take the training for free, but
are asked to make a $35 donation to Rainbow
House to cover the costs of printing the
training manual.
Childcare
Volunteer
Provide childcare in
the playroom at our Community Resource
Program site in Little Village. While you
play with the children, mothers have an
opportunity to attend a support group with
other women experiencing domestic violence.

Volunteer Opportunities
Rainbow House
Volunteers have the opportunity to assist
with field trips to museums and other
attractions, parties at our
Community Resource sites, and other special
events.
Intern*
Rainbow House offers
many opportunities for BSW or MSW candidates
to practice the theory that they are
learning through their studies. Current
internship positions include: Children’s
Activity Worker, Crisis Intervention Worker,
Legal Advocate, Social Worker, and
Children’s Therapist. If you would like

Field Trip
Volunteer
Assist with special
trips or events with the children at our outreach sites.
Administrative Support
Volunteers –
Provide administrative
support at our administrative office located
in Little Village. Whether you are looking
to gain experience or if you are looking for
a place to apply your office expertise, we
have many opportunities where you can help.
Administrative volunteers primarily assist
our Development, Volunteer, and Financial
Departments.
Time Commitment
One to three times per week; many shifts
available Monday-Friday 9am-6pm
Bread & Roses Planning
Committee Member
Working with a diverse
group of Chicago community members and
professionals, you can help us plan and
implement our annual fundraiser, Bread &
Roses. Bread & Roses takes place in April
and includes a silent auction champagne
reception followed by a gourmet dinner and
live auction. Committee members assist in
acquiring auction items, corporate
sponsorships, and other donations.
